Privacy.

The short version: there is no account, the site does not track you, and the dictation audio goes only to the service you chose, with your key.

In the app

Dita has no account, no login and no telemetry. The audio recorded while you hold the key goes straight from your Mac to the transcription service you configured, with your key, or to a local server of yours, in which case it never leaves the machine. Nothing passes through us, because we have no server at all: not for the transcription, not for the model that does the cleanup.

Your API key lives in the macOS Keychain. What you say is not stored by Dita: the text goes to the app in focus and the dictation's memory ends there.

In the live test on this site

The microphone is only on while you hold the space bar or keep the capsule open. The audio goes to this page's server, which forwards it to the transcription service and discards it: nothing is written to disk, nothing is kept after the response.

On this site

We use no tracking cookies and no analytics tools. Your light or dark theme preference stays in your browser, and that is all.

At purchase

Payment is processed by Paddle, acting as the merchant of record: payment data stays with them, under their privacy policy. We receive your name and email to issue and send the license, and that email goes out through the service that delivers it. That is all the personal data we hold, and it is not sold or shared beyond that.
